Escape Rammy 2025 – Registration Open

I’m excited to announce that registration is now open for Escape Rammy 2025, which will take place on 12th July 2025, starting at 8:45am. This event is open to any Scout Group / Explorer Unit across the North West.

The Scout Event, Escape Rammy, is an exciting and challenging activity for Scout groups, which tests their navigation and evasion skills in the stunning West Pennine Moors. The aim is to complete the course from the Pack Horse pub car park in Affetside to the finish point on/near Peel Tower, whilst avoiding being caught by the catching teams (Explorers and Leaders). The event requires teams to work together to plan their route, carry appropriate equipment and stay alert to avoid the catching teams. 

The event is open to teams of 4 to 7 Scouts, with each team having an adult leader. All team members must register online prior to the event, and complete an entry form, provide emergency contact details and pay the £4.50 entry fee per team member. On the day of the event, teams must confirm their details at the start location and be ready to start at 9:00 am. 

The rules of the event are strict, and teams must follow marked footpaths, bridleways and other rights of way, including minor and residential roads. Main roads and private land are off-limits. Teams lose a life when caught by a catching team, and the winner is the team that finishes the course with the most lives remaining, having finished within the finishing window of 12:20 pm to 12:30 pm.

Registration for new teams will close on 1st July 2025.

All teams must submit their information and complete payment by 5th July 2025.

We are now using our new, user-friendly pre-registration platform that makes registering your teams and processing payments easier than ever. You will be able to enter the expected number of teams and can update or change member details, team numbers, or even withdraw up until payment is made.

Team Guidelines:

Each team can have no more than 7 members (not including the adult leader).

Scout Groups must be accompanied by a Scout DBS’d leader.

While Explorer Teams do not need to be accompanied by an Explorer Leader, we expect explorer leaders to be present on the day (and you’re welcome to join us as capturers!).

Pricing:
The cost is £4.50 per young person (leaders walk free).
