TRAINING SUPPORT – PERSONAL SUPPORT
Bury & Ramsbottom has a number of Training Advisers. They can provide ongoing 1-2-1 training support to you from start of role to Wood Badge.
Please talk to your GSL and/or ltm@brscouts.org.uk to get a Training Adviser (TA) assigned. Your TA will then be in touch to help you through your training.
TRAINING SUPPORT – ONLINE ZOOM VALIDATIONS
In addition to the above, there will be regular Zoom Validation sessions, run by the LTM:
- There will be sessions each week for new leaders who have not completed their Getting Started validations (these sessions are aimed for between 1 to 4 leaders)
- Once a month there will a session for anyone who is unable to complete their Compliance Training using the online training (remember you cannot return to scouting, in any role, without a valid up-to-date safeguarding and safety training)
- Once very quarter there will a session on the Trustee Modules for Execs
- There will be regular sessions for wood badge module validations.
- They will run on different nights – as I know that different groups / sections meet on different evenings.
- The sessions will start at 7pm and last for around an hour
- All leaders who still require the module(s) in question will be sent the invite, zoom details and any background reading ahead of the session

TRAINING SUPPORT – ONLINE COURSES
There are a number of online modules that can support your scout training.
The main modules which support your Getting Started and your Ongoing Learning are as follows:
When you complete an online course, make sure you take a copy of the course completion and send a copy to ltm@brscouts.org.uk
I will then ensure that your Compass Training are up to date.
For Mod 03 and Mod 04 – you will need a validation discussion with a Training Adviser to complete your Getting Started. But all other modules can be completed by online training & sharing the course completion form being sent through to the ltm@brscouts.org.uk

TRAINING SUPPORT – COUNTY
First Aid training has been difficult to arrange during COVID.
There are now 2 parts to
- First Aid Mod 10a (theory) – County are setting up Online training sessions.
- First Aid Mod 10b (practical) – County will arrange these sessions when training can be provided face to face again.
You need to have 1 fully qualified first aid volunteer at any face-to-face Scout Activity.
Given the current situation, if your First Aid training has expired, you only need complete Mod 10a to be a valid First Aider for a face-to-face meeting.
Other courses at County – When we can meet face to face again, there should also be some Fast Track Wood Badge Training available.
