Following the governments announcement last night, to place Greater Manchester into lock-down from midnight 30/07/2020, due to the increase of corona virus infections in the conurbation, it is with regret that I am advising you that I am placing the County into code “RED” to protect our youth members, adult volunteers and their families from the risk of infection.

Therefore can you all please advise all your groups, explorer units and Network that face to face Scouting has been suspended with immediate effect until such time as the lock-down restrictions have been lifted.

Scouting can only occur virtually during the newly imposed lock-down restrictions and as and when we move back into Amber, I would appreciate that all Covid 19 risk assessments are resubmitted prior to the return to face to face outdoor Scouting

Keep safe

Yours in scouting

Cathy Ward

County Commissioner
